Course Description: This course is appropriate for any person who should take AED training or who wants to take AED training. This includes any person who owns an AED, any person who works near an AED and any person who wants to know how to use an AED.

Prescription: Under Federal law, any person who purchases an AED is required to have a prescription. This prescription satisfies this requirement in all states except the state of Illinois.

Guidelines: This course follows the latest recommendations as outlined by the American Heart Association.

Requirements Met: 1) This course and certificate meet the requirements of OSHA. Anybody who takes this course will be protected under the amendment to the Good Samaritan Act. 2) You will meet the federal requirement for purchase of an AED device.

Delivery Mode: This is a multimedia educational course on a CD ROM. .

Computer Requirements: A pc computer running a windows operating system with a Pentium III processor or above and a CD drive is required. You must have access to an internet connection to a) register the program, and b) to submit test results. A dial up connection is sufficient.
